A framework for building complex care patient confidence, loyalty, and referrals
My experience with surveying thousands of dentists for over two decades is fewer than 5% of patients whose treatment fee is greater than $25,000 are ready for care.
$25,000 & UP! guides you to offer complex care so well that even though patients are not ready for care, they’ll never forget how well you offered it. And when they become ready they will return to you.

Ordinary care won't cut it
Moderate to complex care dentistry is rapidly becoming less of a differentiator among dentists.
You’re no longer special just because you offer implants, cosmetics, and orthodontics.
The differentiator among dentists in this decade and next are the moments when they make patients feel well-cared for. This differentiator exerts its greatest influence during the new patient experience and treatment presentation process.
$25,000 and UP! will teach you the distinguishing factors that drive the initial new patient appointment especially for complex care patients with case fees above the $25,000 mark.
Patients aren’t good judges of the validity of your
diagnosis. They’re excellent judges of whether they like
you and whether you give them the confidence they’ll be well
cared for.

You can’t educate a complex care patient into readiness.
During my first several years in practice, I consumed hundreds of hours of continuing education. Through it all was the recurring theme of patient education. I can still hear the many instructors of my CE programs preaching, educate, educate, educate. The majority of my CE focused on the technical aspects of restorative and implant Dentistry.
However, the dirty little secret was patient education as case presentation didn’t consistently work for complex care patients.
The bottom line is patient education is overrated as an influencing factor for treatment acceptance for complex care, especially for cases $25,000 and up.
Complex care dentistry needs to fit into patients’ life circumstances; their budgets, family issues, work schedules, and health issues. None of these issues are addressed by patient education. Quite simply, in order for complex care patients to be ready for care, it has to fit into their lives.
$25,000 and UP! provides fresh thinking and solutions for complex care treatment acceptance.
When you’re ready to grow the practice you’ve earned and deserve, let me help.

[Our Dentists] become more influential and skillful when presenting complete dentistry. One and a half years ago our average provider produced $750,000 annually. Today, and as a direct result of Homoly’s processes, average collections of 100% of our providers are over $1,000,000 annually.

Tarun Agarwal, DDS –

His concepts of patient communication have been foundational in establishing the practice I have today…. our revenue has significantly increased by following these principles, what’s more important is the type of dentistry that is driving this increase. It’s more cosmetics, more implants, more sedation, and doing more dentistry in less visits on patients.

COURSE OVERVIEW
1. Introduction to Emotional Outcomes
Dental technology has leveled the playing field on dentists’ capacity to deliver complex care. What used to be the exclusive domain of seasoned senior dentists and specialists, now thanks to digital and restorative materials technology, implant dentistry, “all on four” restorations, cosmetics, orthodontics, and multi-unit restorative are within the skill sets of many general dentists. Moderate
to complex care dentistry is rapidly becoming less of a differentiator among dentists.

2. The Limitations of Patient Education
During my first several years in practice, I consumed hundreds of hours of continuing education. Through it all was the recurring theme of patient education. I can still hear the many instructors of my CE programs preaching, educate, educate, educate. The majority of my CE focused on the technical aspects of restorative and implant dentistry.
Complex care dentistry needs to fit into patients’ life circumstances; their budgets, family issues, work schedules, and health issues. None of these issues are addressed by patient education. Quite simply, in order for complex care patients to be ready for care, it has to fit into their lives.
3. Emotional Momentum
Emotional momentum consists of seven positive emotional outcomes patients experience that escalates during the new patient appointment that influences patients to accept complex care. Emotional momentum, and your ability to manifest it in your patients, will accelerate your journey to mastery.
4. Empathy
Empathy is about understanding patients; understanding how their dental conditions interfere in
their lives, the lifestyle benefits they seek, and how complex care needs to fit into their lives. Empathy is the key patient experience that influences patients to choose you to provide their complex care.
5. Advocacy: parts 1-5
Advocacy is the third emotional outcome in building emotional momentum. Advocacy is the patient’s experience when they realize you have their best interest at heart. Advocacy begins during the new patient conversation and continues through treatment presentation. It’s easy to be a patient advocate when patients are ready for care. I hope to convince you that it’s even more important when they’re not.
6. Hope: parts 1, 2
Restoring hope is the fourth step in building emotional momentum. Many complex care patients have lost hope that dental health is possible for them. Restoring their hope is essential.
Always keep in mind, recommending treatment to complex care patients is a leadership conversation. A big part of leadership is helping patients feel better about themselves.
7. Inspiration
Often complex care patients need more inspiration than education. Inspiration occurs during the post-examination discussion after you’ve provided hope and discussed your examination findings. Inspiration is critical for complex care patients and can be provided with photographs, outcome simulations, and storytelling. Inspiration is the fifth step in building emotional momentum leading to treatment acceptance for complex care patients.
8. Confidence
A big mistake I made early in my career is I believed I could educate a patient into confidence. That belief came from what I learned during continuing education. I believed the more I educated complex patient care patients, I’d prove to them my treatment recommendations were the right path to follow. Confidence is the sixth emotional outcome when building emotional momentum and the focus of this lesson.
Patients aren’t good judges of the validity of your diagnosis. They’re excellent judges of whether they like you and whether you give them the confidence they’ll be well cared for.
9. Loyalty
Patient loyalty is the seventh and last emotional outcome along the path of emotional momentum.
Patient loyalty binds patients intellectually and emotionally to your practice. So much of the good that comes to us from dentistry results from patient loyalty; patients returning for complete care who were previously not ready, patient retention, referrals, positive online reviews, and career fulfillment. Loyalty is the culmination of emotional momentum. Loyalty is the result of the preceding six emotional outcomes and lessons.

• To share your access code would be unethical…in other words…stealing!
• Sharing your access code creates a situation where the person you shared your online access code with would not be welcome into the live webinars (a major program benefit) nor the private Facebook Community
• We have an administrative dashboard that alerts us to student activity and unauthorized use can be detected. If detected then membership is forfeited with no refund.
